Celebrating Sis and Weili's Birthday

So long since I last updated this blog. People have been asking me, why I haven't been updating this blog, even my own husband has been asking the very same question. To him, I will simply reply saying, this blog was created to be a joint effort between him and me. Why has it become my responsibility?

These pictures above are taken at Traders' Hotel, Cafe Biz. As Sis's and Weili's birthdays are only 2 days apart, they decided to have a joint celebration.

Happy 26th Birthday to my Sister. You are sooooooooo old now.

Happy 31st Birthday to Weili. You will forever be older than me. =p

Baby Ian’s Milestones

1 Month Old

~ Stared at faces and red, white and black flashcards.
~ Move in jerky motions with fists clenched.

2 Months Old

~ Vocalized – cooing and aahing.
~ Follows objects from right to left.
~ When lying on tummy, can hold head up for short period of time.

3 Months Old

~ Grasped toy with his hand. Preferred his right hand.
~ Squeals, giggles and coo.
~ When lying on tummy, can hold head up slightly longer but do not like it.
~ Had his first smile. (in response)
~ Reaches for toys when lying on play gym.

4 Months Old

~ Likes to be carried in a sitting position.
~ Lifts head and shoulder when lying on tummy.
~ Recognized faces.
~ Attracted to television.
~ Turn to loud noises.
~ Turn to person who just walked into the room.
~ Visually tracks moving objects easily.
~ Seemingly to imitate when we coo.
~ Started to flip but not 100% successful.

5 Months Old

~ Loves to flip from back onto tummy.
~ Flips from tummy to back again.
~ Enjoys watching people during tummy time.
~ Loves standing with support.
~ Enjoys sliding down when put in sitting position.
~ Trying to move towards objects though can't crawl yet. Haha.
~ Finishes his 180ml milk in 8-10 minutes.

6 Months Old

~ Started Heinz rice cereal once a day.
~ Squeals with laughter.
~ Sprouts a tooth!
~ Conversed excitedly in baby language.
~ Demands attention vocally.
~ Started eating semi solids like Heinz Rice Cereal, Carrot, Pumpkin Purees, teething rusks.
~ Sits without support for a short period
~ Sprouts another tooth!
~ Supports his body off the bed with his chubby arms.
~ Opens mouth for spoon.
~ Pushes object away when he doesn't like it.
~ Pulls his bib off! (velcro type)

7 Months Old

~Lunges forward from sitting position to grab an object.
~Feeds himself with teething rusk.
~Looks for something that has dropped.
~ Sits on high chair.
~ Transfer object from one hand to the other.
~ Bangs 2 objects together.
~ Manoveurs the walker extremely well. Follows you whenever you go. Can even estimate correctly to follow you into a room.
~ Had his very 1st fruit - Banana!
~ Sprouts his upper tooth.
~ Sits without support for longer period.
~ Crawled in reverse.
~ Started porridge - scallops, fish, veg, pumpkin, potatoes etc.

8 Months Old

~ Sprouted 4 upper teeth and 2 bottom teeth.
~ Sits without support for long period.
~ Drops objects purposely, expecting you to pick it up for him. Repeats again.
~ Clapping his hands.
~ Stands up with support, ie. Holding on to his cot.
~ Raises his arms to you when he wants to be carried.
~ Shakes his head when he doesn't want you to carry.
~Crawls a step or two forward.
~ From on four position can managed into sitting position on his own.

9 Months Old

~Strings "baby talk" syllables into sentences.
~ Bangs, drop, shake objects.
~ Clap hands when happy.
~ Shakes head as a sign of rejection.
~ Seemed to understand the word "No."
~Frowned when you spank his butt.
~Crawled forward.

10 Months Old

~Able to understand "knock knock" as he knocks his forehead against another person.
~Able to understand "No No" by shaking his head.
~Indicates wants with gestures.
~Responds to name.
~Sprouted 7 teeth.

11 Months Old

~Waves "Bye Bye" but depends on willingness and mood.
~"Peng Kiss" with his palm onto his mouth.
~Understands the word "sayang" and uses his hand/head to touch your face.
~Understands "No."
~Cruises around the playpen with support from railings.
~Conversed in gibberish sentences.
~ Sprouted a total of 8 teeth.
~Stands unsupported for a second or so.
~Mumbles "Pa Pa" and "Ah Bah"
~ 1st Word - "Ah Yee!"

12 Months Old

~ 2nd Word - "Pa Pa!"
~ Understands "Orh Hor" & acknowledges by coming to Mummy "sayang" gesture as a sign of asking forgiveness.
~Conversed in more babyish words, stringing longer sentences.
~Walks with support.
~Able to play "give and take"
~Able to get down from bed/sofa, legs first.
~When you say hello, he'll place the phone onto his ear.
~Able to distinguish between a toy mobile phone and a real mobile phone.
~Throws things and crawls to pick it up on his own

13 Months Old

~Called "ma ma."
~Called "Uncle."
~Called "Auntie."
~Keeps his blocks inside the tub all by himself.
~Understands commands, like "take out pacifier."
~Understands "kiss kiss" and kissed you full on the lips!
~Bends forward to pick up his toys.
~Drop stuff and pick it up by himself.

14 Months Old

~Eats with Finger, very good pincer grasp, can even picked up a tiny black flax seed.
~Empties all contents in a container.
~Puts back all contents in a container.
~Took his first step without any support.
~Responds to instruction like, "Give Mummy a kiss."
~Uses a spoon to feed other people
~Asked for food when he sees others' eating.
~Holds out arm when dressing him.
~Holds out foot when he sees his shoe.
~Sees his Grandma and called "Ah Ma!"
~Understands which room is Ah Ma's room, Ah Yee's room etc

15 Months Old

~Plays with Ball.
~Walks more steadily.
~Knows how to play hide and seek & catching.
~Initiates games.
~Pushes toy while walking.
~Holds out arm/leg when dressing him.
~Understands "legs up" when changing diaper.
~Says "No more!" with gesture.
~Knows the correct way to use telephone, mobile phones.
~Has temper tantrums when frustrated.
~Uses rubbish bin as drum!

16 Months Old
~ Says "Up" when we asked him to lift up his legs during diaper changing.
~ Called "Daddy"
~ Called "Mummy"
~ Attempts to repeat what we say.

17th Months Old
~Throws a ball
~Pulls up his own long sleeves to make into half sleeves.
~Kicks a ball
~Dances to music

18th Months Old
~Chooses shoes to wear
~Uses spoon/fork to self feed, albeit messy though
~Enjoys helping around the house, like bringing clothes from kitchen into living room, folding clothes etc.

19th Months Old
~Stacks blocks on top of one another
~Called out the word "Hotdog!" when Mickey Mouse is doing Hotdog dance with other cartoon friends!
~Called Bear Bear when he sees a Carebear!
~Points to cartoon program and laughed aloud when something funny happened.

20th Months Old
~Able to points to head, hair, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, teeth, tongue, hands, legs, fingers when asked by us!
~Able to say" Hair and Eyes"
~Able to say "Let's go" though it sounds more like "Let go" Haha!
~Able to bring his dirty clothes to place inside his basket in the kitchen.
~Walks up stairs with assistance
~Learning to Jump
~Able to self - feed with spoon or fork.

21st Months Old
~ Able to recongize car and named it.
~ Able to recongnize bus and named it.
~Know that the phone/mobile phone is use for conversing. Will say "Hello" and asked for people he knows. E.g. Mummy, Daddy, Ah Yee, Ah Ma!
~ Able to walk down the stairs with assistance.
~ Able to recongize Mickey Mouse and called it Mickey!
~ Initiates hugging and kissing when I sing songs for him.
~ Shows signs of possessiveness over his Mummy. Doesn't allow Daddy to kiss or hug or hold his Mummy. LOL
~ Open door.
~ Able to follow 2 steps requests.

22nd Months Old
~ Able to recongize truck and named it.
~ Trying to sing along songs, like "Over the Rainbow"
~ Rejects Daddy's singing by clamping his hand over Daddy's mouth! Haha!
~ Kicks ball forward.

23rd Months Old
~
- Able to name simple things.
- Friendy to call people
- Starts opening doors with lever.
- Interested to play with his peers.

24th Months Old
~
- Can name body parts like eyes, nose, mouth, ears.
- Learns to hum tunes but not too clear.
- Learning to walk down stairs.
- Learns to jump but not well.

25th Months Old
~
- Able to self feed well.
- Plays with his peers.
- Snatch toys with peers.
- Calls Gor Gor, Di Di, Jie Jie, Mei Mei
- Starts attending play group.
- Didn't cry at all, not even on 1st day.

26th Months Old
~
- Calls Great Granny "Lao Ma!"
- Recognizes alphabets
- Can say A - Z
- Can say 1 - 10
- Says "I love you"
- Says "Yes."

27th Months Old
~
- Jumps with both feet.
- Loves stacking things.
- Recognizes animals like doggy, cat, etc.
- Recognizes vehicles like car, truck, bus, bike, train.
- Can sing songs along with cd.

28th Months Old
~
- sings Xiao Xiao Zhu
- recognizes 1- 10 even when we randomly asked him
- recognizes certain alphabets when randomly asked him but not all.
- Uses "I want this, I want soup, fish, pork, etc"
- Has a mind of his own.
- Says "Sorry"
- Prideful.
